we have this large area of high pressure rotating over us now and giving us the clear sky. this high pressure will stay in place over the next 48 hours as we look at the futurecast. going forward on in to wednesday, this high will eventually track a little bit farther to the east by then, and if it does do so, we may have a few more clouds as temperatures climb to the low to mid-90s again and maybe a little more humidity midweek. but for the afternoon, not too humid but certainly uncomfortably hot. now all the way until around 4:00, 5:00, it's going to be into the low to mid-90s and then overnight tonight we'll get some relief, near 80 by midnight under a clear sky, and by dawn tomorrow into the 60s. and during the day on tuesday a repeat of today as well as wednesday, although maybe just a little more humid on wednesday evening and into thursday. but thursday not as hot, probably up around 90. now the end of the week, though, depending on how close earl comes we'll have some clouds in here on friday from earl perhaps and of course if it does come closer to the coast we cou

thankfully, it missed us. we don't need anymore. we've had our share of winter, this astonishing winter of 2010. i've never seen a winter like this. and this hyperactive winter coinues this morning for us in the form of some whipping winds. as we take a look at our sky viewer camera, that is bouncing around in the winds this morning and the low clouds have been racing through, coming in from the north. all coming from that storm that is centered right over new york city. there's the live view from our city camera. you can see the wind-swept waters of the potomac river, and just down there at reagan national. the all-time wind recorded here in washington, the highest wind is 98 miles per hour. that occurred when hurricane hazel hit back in 1954. we haven't had any gusts near that, that's for sure. as we look at the radar, we are seeing some snow showers and snow flurries on radar right now,etting those in northeast washington, across prince george's county, into montgomery county, as well as howard county and into calvert and parts o
